THE PROBLEM
The world is pulling itself apart. The rich, the powerful, remain, but richer, more powerful, and fewer, with the poor, the weak, poorer, weaker, more numerous.
Politicians speak the thinking of olden days with preachers doing no better with failing messages.
Wars in the Middle East are as described in the Testaments, Old and New. Americans, by the millions, die in war after war.
Tomorrow is no different than today with today’s talk using the words spoken during the wars of the Gulf, Vietnam, Korea, the World Wars, Britain, French, Spain, spoiling tomorrow defiling thinking taking as its casualty our existence.
Finish one war, start another, praying to the same God, we do.
Technology being what it is, easier it is to kill with loneliness spreading like a deadly virus, the way of man, with hatred and love flourishing side by side, continuing the cycle of life and death, with conflict between good and evil.
Always there is one saying the man over there intends on killing you so go kill him continuing the conflict between good and evil.
The Problem of Man is reflected in his history of achievements ripped apart in an endless struggle between good and evil, war and peace.
THE SOLUTION
Common to the world of all ages is attention to the same tired arguments, answers, worn out, just wrapped up in new paper.
Man imagined the automobile, going to the moon, then made the imaginable real. We can imagine a new way, then make it real.
We are to go down a road as old as the hills glossed over in arrogant ignorance with many attempting to rid their lives of an ignorance subject to evil ways. Aim, many do, to grasp the truth in the words of the Messengers, of nature’s messages, with the courage to be steadfast towards truth, ending conflict between good and evil.
The way suggested is so traditional, it is downright radical when in fact, this thinking reflects the best of patriotism and religious ideas.
Traveling the road of life focused on everything but the spiritual is doomed to the ashes of history. Looking for answers in the temporal is senseless.
A focus on the permanent, through intellect, is true religion, providing the rules of living giving us happiness.
The words of Pope Francis illuminate. “Rivers do not drink their own water, trees do not eat their own fruit, the Sun does not shine on itself, flowers do not spread their fragrance for themselves. Living for others is a rule of nature. We are all born to help each other, no matter how difficult it is…Life is good when you are happy but much better when others are happy because of you.”
We have a choice to say and do what has been said and done, indicating no thinking, understanding those upon whose shoulders we stand may have it wrong, or we can make it right, not doomed to our ancestor’s ways.
Seeing divisions among the peoples of this world is inconsistent with the “Rule of nature to live for others”.
Come together, see the differences among us are an illusion, to end hunger, conflict giving credence to “Living for others is a rule of nature” subjecting life to The Solution.
I seek not to tell you how to live. I have too much respect for you. I don’t even know you, but my respect you have because I see you as I see myself. And I respect myself.
A CALL TO ACTION
The mandate is to form a Resolve to go out into the world helping our neighbor as we find him, not as we want to find him.
We are to envision a road that goes beyond the theology of the church and patriotism of our country seeing man as a flower reaching full bloom when all that is unique to man is developed.
Focus is to be on the rules of nature applicable to man as the farmer focuses on the rules of nature applicable to the growing of a crop.
Caring through words with nothing more lacks proper reflection giving rise to evil ways. Working in the community to make things right for all is a caring that puts evil in its proper end complying with the “rule of nature to live for others”.
The worker, the boss, the poor, the rich, are to be respected. Saying this with words in the absence of action is hypocritical.
Simply reciting the words of the Commandments is a life of hypocrisy. Giving the Commandments life by putting these words into action is the height of religious zeal.
Sounds a little like Jesus, Mohammed, Yahweh and Buddha. Sounds a little like The Holy Vedas. Sounds a little like common sense.
Each arises early, takes care of nature’s call, brushes his teeth, dresses, feeds the kids, gets them to school, observes his Sabbath, praying to his God not with the same name, but in the end the same.
Each of us is not of our own doing, making us dependent on an agent, external, making respect for you respect for this agent.
On April 16, 2007, a man with a gun worked a massacre in Blacksburg, Virginia. A mother in Vietnam wrote to the Virginia Tech community sharing her sorrow and tears with that campus for she knew the loss of a child, a son, lost to a bullet made in Virginia.
